The Μonastery of Our Lady of Agionisi (Panagias Agionisiou) is located in the middle of Agionisi, a small pine covered island at the entrance to the bay. The era of its foundation is unknown, but we know from old Venetian maps, in which the whole island is called “Islets of Our Lady” that it dates back to at least 1654. The monastery is located in the middle
Agionisi, a small pine covered island at the entrance of the bay. The little one-room Katholikon is preserved, and was recently renovated, as well as some ruins of the cells and a well. It celebrates the day of Zoodochou Pigis (Life-giving Spring), every Friday after Easter, when there is access from the sea by boat going from Igoumenitsa to the island.
