The Monastery of St. Paraskevi of Kougi (Agia Paraskevi Kougiou) is located in the famous Souli, above the village Samoniva, and is today restored.
Originally it was built by the famous Samuel, the heroic Captain Kalogeros of Souli in 1793 and was destroyed with explosives planted by him in 1803 in the famous holocaust, during the withdrawal of Souliotes. There, every year on the last Sunday in May, a number of events take place, widely known as “The Souli Feasts”.
