01. The House of Rena

The new Museum of Culture and Tradition “The House of Rena” wasinaugurated in September 2012 in Igoumenitsa. In the museum are exhibited and kept, many beautiful handmade “treasures”: original costumes, embroidery and woven fabrics from the region, but also many other utilitarian objects from everyday life. The rooms are well designed and each one is interesting in each own unique way. It took ten years of persistent effort but above all love, to create this museum. Its exhibits –which comprise of more than 2,000 objects– transport the visitor to other eras. The visitors are able to view volunteers in the dedicated hall as well as Rena’s collections. The “House of Rena” is a beacon that illuminates memories, continues the tradition and promotes culture.

The “ House of Rena “ is located in Parodos Olympou 6 in the city center and can be visited on a daily basis by calling.
