The Kalodiki Wetlands belong to the Municipality of Margariti and is 35km from Igoumenitsa, west of Highway Igoumenitsa-Preveza. It has an area of 4,000 acres from which a portion is utilized by agricultural vegetation and the rest is covered by water. The wetland has a vast variety of habitats with significant ecological value and represents one of the great wetlands of Western Greece. Due to its geographical location, the area is of particular importance to birds, as migrating birds stop in Western Greece. The pond is filled with water lillies, which bloom in May, it is a unique spectacle for visitors.
