Perdika

It is an important touristic destination of this region having some of the most beautiful beaches of Greece (Karavostasi, Arillas, and saint Paraskevi). The kilometres long coast of this place has the privilige to rest the clear blue water of the Ionian Sea. Over 12 beaches to choose all with crystalclear water. The olive groves as well as the river that flows into Karavostasi and the walls of the ancient town of “Elina” at Dimokastro are just one more paintbrush on the beauty and the tranquility of the landscape.

Showing their gratitude to this gifted area, the locals look after their home caring for it and offering their hospitality to thousands of visitors every year. You can find modern hotels by some of the beaches of the community, rooms for rent nearly everywhere, taverns, restaurants,
cafes, night life at the village itself, together with peace and relaxation.

“Paratiritirio”, at the end of a short road (a kind of extension of the square with shops on each
side), is a place with a breathtaking view you can’t afford to miss. You can see the coast to Syvota and the biggest part of the island of Corfu. The sunset from there is a must. In the summer the sun sets behind the island of Corfu, right in front of you and the colors of the sky can be fantastic. You may find yourself gazing at it for a long time.

During the Antiquity, it was a part ancient Elina, as Dimocastro confirms, a fortified settlement in
the south of Karavostasi beach. The villager is built on a plateau with a magnificent view of the
Ionian Sea and Corfu. It is a great example of the touristic development. Except for the beaches, it is worthwhile visiting the Entertainment Park of the Community, the paved square, the theatre, the folklore art museum, while one can taste the traditional cuisine in the local small taverns.
